“We love our great-grandparents THIIIIIIIIS much!”

So, that’s not Philip was saying here, (I’m not really sure WHAT was going on) but it is what each kid was thinking.

Admittedly, they are pretty great. But that the kids get to know them and learn from them?  That’s the greatest.

This visit seemed especially powerful as the kids are now old enough to remember their grandparents houses and make connections.

“You and Uncle Billy slept here?”

“This was cousin Kati’s book?”

“Mom! Did you know Papa Louie has a pear tree?  Just like us!”

There is just something about them being in the same places that MY parents grew up in.  Incredible.  Amazing. Great.
