Tess is nearly potty trained. Someone knock on wood!! I’m afraid to start breaking open the champagne for fear she’ll relapse and I will be reduced to a quivering, crying mess. Because do you know what this means? If she successfully graduates to chonies, it will be the first time in 5 years and 10 months that we have been diaper-less in this house. 5 years 10 months!!!! Do you know what that equals in dollars and cents?? I can’t even think about it because it makes me nauseous and slightly emotional.
As you can see, I’m a little giddy with excitement. What I am not excited about, however, is the way that girl goes through toilet paper. In the last three days I do believe we’ve gone through at least 5 rolls. And that’s with the boys not using any (TMI, I know, but you need to get the picture here). In addition, I have had plunger in hand, a cold sweat breaking out and a “Please, Lord, no!” prayer on my lips 3 times in the last 24 hours. All because she loves the toilet paper. When you try to stop her from using more than say 4 squares she yells, “I haf to wipe my butt!” Such conviction! And I don’t want to start down the path that leads to her not wiping (ahem, Philip).
So for now we rejoice in her current and pray for her continued success, keeping an eye out for deals on the Charmin.
