I spend a good deal of time, on a regular basis, just wanting some time alone. Some time to listen to the quiet, to be without demands, to just be.
And then it happened.
I had 3 hours at home without the kids and I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself. After a nap, that is. I cleaned a little and read a little but it was odd. When the crew returned and backpacks were back on the pegs, the sweatshirts and shoes strewn about and little bodies tucked into bed, THAT quiet felt right. It felt full and heavy.
I’ll take that over empty any day.
