At the moment, the last thing on my list of “Wants” is an extra day. It is Lent, after all, and in addition to that, 71% of Casa de Daniel is sick. Like SICK, sick. Fevers, coughs, green noses, fried patience – the works. no one wants an extra day to enjoy that. But that’s what today, the 29th of February, is, an extra day. Oy. We made the most of it.
We learned how to write our ‘P’s so we could write ‘leap.’
Then we leapt!
Our number one “Bleacher” or spectator. But who needs to leap when you have cheeks like these?
We measured.
We counted out 366 marshmallows so we could see what that looked like.
Turns out a bag of mini marshmallows has about 400-ish in it so we didn’t need the three bags I bought. Mom needs some work on her guesstimating skills. . .
We built marshmallow and toothpick structures and grandma came over just in time to check them out.
Then Ellie’s fever spiked and she nearly fell asleep in her Mac and Cheese so we attempted some naps.
I repeat, ‘attempted.’
*siiiiiiiigh*
After supper we whipped up a batch of Turkish Delight to share with the co op colloquium and finalized our entries for our time capsule.
Here’s hoping that the next time Leap Year rolls around we’re healthy and we take a little extra time to make our extra day extra special again.
Leapin’ lizards this is a cute post!
I am so glad you remembered to something leaping special! I wanted to call you to suggest a few things, but you had it all under control! As one boy in class asked, “Did you play leap frog?”
What is Turkish Delight? Looks yummy according to my Danny so you’ll have to share the recipe…
