You ever have one of those days where you feel like Sisyphus, rolling that boulder up the hill, over and over? Or like a hamster on a wheel? You know know you are doing something, you just can’t see what it is.
Today was one of those days. So, to prove to myself that I actually did something, a list is in order.
0- minutes of schooling that took place
4- loads of wash
11- time we did morning prayer
5- bags loaded up for Salvation Army
5- drawers I went through and rearranged in the kid’s room
2- hours spent in a Scout planning meeting
1- time I reached into the toilet to retrieve something that didn’t belong there
1- hour I spent washing dishes
174- the number of times I told the kids to get along
30- minutes spent in the shower. It was needed for a day like today.
Tomorrow, no hamster wheels, no hills, no boulders. Tomorrow is forward motion and grace and joy in the details. That’s the deal. That’s the plan.
