Sometimes, like once every 12 months or so, everything aligns, God smiles down and serendipitously all the parts of our life just click.

It happened a few weeks back for us and it was so momentous, I just had to log it here.  You know, so I can look back and be reminded that God really does love us on those days I question it.

First, we took up read Junie B. Jones, Cheater Pants. Not a Junie fan yet?  You don’t know what you’re missing!  And Cheater Pants?  Highly recomended.

Anyway, we were smack dab in the middle of Junie B. when she is given the assignment of writing a cinquain. (It’s sin-cane.  I didn’t know how to pronounce it either . . . )  A five line poem, hers were clever and the kids clamored to write one of their own.

Then, not 2 days later Max began poetry at co-op.  As in, we were ahead of the curve! His assignment was to write a simple poem.

This would have been awesome all by itself, but two days after that Mama Syd showed up and she took over the poetry.

I just . . . I mean . . . Chh!

It was that good.

And speaking of good, the poems Max wrote were pretty darn.

See for yourself!

TESS

There once was a girl named Tess,

Her hair was always a mess,

She was a total girl

She liked to twirl

When it comes to sisters, she’s best!

Yeah, he didn’t write one about me.  I was in the limerick period and it’s hard to find something that rhymes with ‘mom.’ Besides “the bomb,” and I didn’t want to squelch his creativity.  Or push too much of a good thing.
