I feel like I’ve made this connection before; the use of the old Girl Scout song to describe my relationship with my college friends.
No matter, because it’s true. I love those girls. In their presence I feel authentic and understood. Wherever we are in life, we get it. Their friendship is such a blessing to me.
I wish I had the words to explain what transpired in Billings. Just a brief weekend stay, but it was overflowing with blessings and laughs and trreasures. It even took me a few days to begin to tell Jacques all that had happened and even then, my descriptions sounded flat and lacking. So I have bundled those days up and kept them close, pondering and savoring them over and over.
Oh so good!
What I can say is this: we ate, shopped and were merry. We teased one another and built each other up. We were treated to salt from the Dead sea by Beth, enjoyed Lacey’s new digs and swapped accessories with one another. Ellie and Bailey had their first sleep over, became friends and with them, the circle began again. Beautiful!
Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other is Gold.
A fire burns bright, it warms the heart. We’ve been friends from the very start.
A circle is round, it has no end. That’s how long I’ll be your friend.
