It was a long day.  Just so much stuff to pack into the Triduum, you know?

The kids were in bed, lights off and singing “campfire songs” when Jac and I came into pray with them.  Jac started us out:

“In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Bless us, oh Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to recieve, from Thy bounty through Christ Our Lord, Amen.  And may the souls of the faithful departed . . . ”

Then he started laughing his evil laugh.

“Ahhhh!  You suckas!  I was just seein’ how long you’d go!  You ain’t even payin’ attention to what we prayin’!” (Yes, he does sound just like a “brother” when he says things like this.)

THAT’S when the kids and I caught onto what had happened.  We all laughed ourselves silly and started into our normal routine:

“Protect us, oh Lord, as we stay awake . . . ”

Ah hahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Right.  Guess you had to be there.
