It should be noted that plenty of people have/continue to ask Jac how Kolbe Media (his business) is doing in the face of the economic downturn.  It is, after all, a little tenuous to be at the mercy of other people’s budgets.  We get this.  At any rate, Jac’s patent reply has been, “Well, the heat’s still on.”

We woke up on day 3 of Spring Storm ’09 to a house that was 61 degrees.

The heat was off.

Thankfully, it was not that bills were unpaid (yet.  Thanks be to God.).  Last year at about this same time, the heater went on a funk and we had a not-so-professional appearing person come out and take a look at it.  He got it up and running and promised 2 things before he left – a bill to be sent and a call when the part came in for the igniter.  Neither ever came to fruition, the heater worked and was soon shut off and it was forgotten.  It’s worked like a champ all winter until it gave up the ghost in the middle of the night.

Jac called the company we called last year.  “Yeah . . . You might as well call Tessier’s Heating because they have the Lennox parts.  We’d call them anyway . . . ”  I admire their honesty as well as there, er, ambition.  So Tessier’s was called and they were here before 9 am.

So, in case you’re wondering how business is, the heat is still on.
